THOSE KIND HEARTED WORLD KILLED ME!

(This post is based on a real incident occurred at Madhurai, India. I made a surrealistic version to make the concept clear for my readers. This is a subject matter to think over. Narrator here is a dead soul from heaven.)

“When you point one finger at others, there are three fingers pointing back at you”.

I was 4 days old, when my father and grandmother poisoned me to death for being a girl child. I am not the first in my land to get murdered for the same. I had a senior who was killed after 30 days of birth. The kind hearted virtuous, so called sane people cross questioned and criticised the accused for doing such an inhuman brutality towards a 4 days old infant. I wonder, is that true that my father and grandmother were the real culprits?

They murdered me. Not for who I am, but for what I am. In the name of my gender and the possible headaches my gender create to a poor family who already had 3 girl children prior to me.

They were actually expecting a boy. And was terribly terrified to hear my girlish cry. It’s not that they hate girls. It’s that they are poor.

I found no practical fault in my father or grandmother. They were really forced to kill me. They were pressurized by the stereotypical norms of moral society. “Girls are expensive. You want to provide them with gold and money for her marriage. Within few years they will belong to some other family and you gain nothing investing on them but priceless love. What can love cultivate? Nothing in the land of poverty.“

STOP OBJECTIFYING WOMAN

This is what I have to tell to the crowd of over moralistic human soul who are criticising the deeds of my father and grandmother. When a man appears on the wedding hall in a neat shirts and dhoti with little affordable perfume why should you expect girls to be with several kilograms of gold with over embellished outlook? They are just exhibited as an object. The eyes of all the people stray amidst the number of bangles and thickness of gold necklace she wore. They check with much curiosity for the 916 quality of ear rings, anklets and all the possible ornaments. They weave their visionary senses through the most fine silk of cloth she wore guessing it’s price tag. And now women is just an object. Nothing more nothing less.

This attitude of well esteemed, sympathetic good people is the real cause of female foeticide, infanticide etc. Poor can’t afford to have too many girls for the same. Because they are poor, they want some masculine blood who will look after them at their old age providing them the daily bread, or else they will die out of starvation at their senile stage. Girls are the ones who must be sent to other families and had no practical use in bringing them up in a struggling poor background of a starving family.

I just want to conclude that the people who are ready to put the age old punishment sequences refering the rotten pages of Indian Penal Code must atleast do something to stop objectification of woman in every means. They will get married without overweighing ornaments. They will get married without direct or indirect type of dowries. What has to change is the orthodoxical view of the society. Change the age old tradition and thoughts. If 100 out of millions are ready to stop the objectification of woman, that change will slowly infect the society and make them to think in a more positive way.

If you are not ready to change your own deadly views and voice yourself against objectification of female, you have no right to punish anyone for their helplessness.

(Remember if I was a boy they must have had the best days in their life. They are imprisoned for giving birth to a girl child in a poor family and for murdering it. Again they concluded a girl is a curse.)

To the moralistic soul who showered abusive words on my father and grandmother…“When you point one finger at others, there are three fingers pointing back at you“.
